Judge Olson is proud to serve the people of Hennepin County. In her courtroom, she listens carefully to everyone who appears before her. She takes the law seriously, applies it with consistency, and holds people accountable in ways that are fair and transparent. She is running to retain her seat in 2026.

Judge Olson

Judge Olson serves on the criminal downtown team, and handles cases involving misdemeanors and gross misdemeanors. She takes every case seriously, and treats everyone with respect. She believes that justice means listening fully, applying the law impartially, and making sentencing decisions that are both fair and meaningful. Judge Olson holds people accountable while treating each case as the individual matter it is.

Before she was appointed to the bench, Judge Olson was a trial lawyer for 14 years. She began her career representing clients in business litigation. She later served as an Assistant Attorney General in the Minnesota Attorney General’s Office and represented the State of Minnesota in complex constitutional and statutory litigation. Judge Olson has the experience to make the law understandable to the people in her courtroom and in her community.

Judge Olson lives with her husband and two kids in Minneapolis.
